To-morrow afternoon at the residence of Dr. T. H. McCormick will occur the marriage of Miss Pearl McCormick to Mr. Wm. Haller. The ceremony will be performed by Rev. Firman McCormick, brother of the bride, and Rev. Rice. Mr. Haller and bride will be at home immediately at 170 East Lewis street.

It’s not uncommon for two pastors to be asked to officiate. “…will be at home immediately” might just mean for the reception?
Oh, good point, I wasn’t thinking about the reception. I don’t know how common a “honeymoon” trip was in those days, unless you were very well off.
Was there a reason that two Reverends were officiating at the ceremony? Was the reception at the new residence of the bride and groom? I find it interesting that the newly wed Mr. & Mrs. Haller would be home right after the ceremony.
The one minister was the bride’s brother and the other was the minister at the family church. They probably wanted to include both.
I don’t know how common the practice of a traveling honeymoon was in these parts. William Haller was a butcher. I don’t know if his business would have survived if he wasn’t there.
