Have quit work on
the house now until
after Xmas. All hands
at the store. Willard
takes care of the chickens
He says the boys at
school are telling him
there is no Santa Claus
Let us hear from
you as you can’t husk
corn now. froze up

Wish you were here on my birthday. Papa gave me $10 and mama made me a nice large kite, a baseball suit, a wading suit, candy, and a birthday cake with ice cream. I flew my kite all after noon & had a lot of fun –

In 1910, Willard was only 3 years old. It is likely that the postcard (and the one posted yesterday) were written by Willard’s father, Huston Hackleman.
