I’ve always found these little announcements very charming. It brings a sense of closeness that must have existed in the community. Today we might communicate something like that through Facebook or Twitter. Happy Thanksgiving! By the way what was the trip for?
Happy Thanksgiving to you too! Lizzie (Foster) Johnson lived in Largo, Florida for many years. The family was always going down to visit her and vice versa. I have a couple of pictures of Jim Foster (Gladys’ brother) and his wife Thelma visiting Aunt Lizzie’s place after World War II. I also agree about the comparison. Newspapers were the way to announce stuff like that.
